Thorbjørn Fessel began to edit photos and create 2D graphics and visuals at the age of 13. The results were loads of fantasy wallpapers. After 9 years with graphic and photo retouching, Thorbjørn basically took charge of his own camera and thereby made sure that he would shoot the material/ resources he needed for his graphic projects. Quickly, it dawned on him and his caregivers that despite his lifelong/intense love for photography, and with a wide myriad of cameras used for photography, there was a new love at the horizon, namely digital photography. He was simply taken and deeply fascinated by the unique opportunity for creating fantastic expressions by exclusively using digital photography.
This medium became quickly the center of his projects. Only one year after he had bought the first SLR camera from Canon, he went to Cuba with one single intention, namely portraits of aging Cubans. After the editing process where he had been focusing on a new technique which up to that point had rarely been seen used when taking close portraits, Thorbjørn won the Danish National Portrait Prize in Canon's international photo competition, Canon Mission 2008, with his photo contribution: "Son of Cienfuegos II.I".
This great success was followed by several awards, such as: – Winning a poster contest for Copenhagen 2008 - Receiveing a Daily Deviation on the world's largest online art community for the photograph "International Workers Day" - May, 1. 2008. Now at the age of 27, he is studying BA. Photography at the Danish School of Media and Journalism. This has resulted in many photographs in time. Thorbjørns ability to create colorful and exciting compositions has resulted in a reputation and a number of new and recurring clients seeking his expertise in taking the perfect photo.
